Christmas 2008

What a fun Christmas we have had this year. We started off by going up to Logan on Christmas Eve to spend the day up there. We first of all encountered some water pipe breakage of which Adam and Chris spent the morning fixing. We found out the problem on Christmas Eve Eve. There was water all the way down the street from our break. We didn't have water that night but Adam woke up early the next day to work hard and he and Chris conquered the job and fixed it so thank heavens for water again. You never really appreciate something until it's gone sometime. What I appreciate most about water is being able to thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water not just hand sanitizer.

Then we were off to Logan and spent the night up there. We went and saw baby Kiya in the hospital of which she is doing well. Once she reaches 46 ml in a feeding she gets to go home. She is right around 30 ml so she is getting there. I can't wait for her to be home with her family. We played the Wii, opened presents and just hung out. We were very spoiled and got lots of fun things. My favorite was my new Kitchen Aid mixer. Brody got lots of fun toys and a trike and Adam got Jeep stuff, of course!

Christmas morning we woke up around 7:00 to get ready and start opening presents with our little family. Brody was so happy, normally it takes him a little while to get going and once he has food in him he is much happier but Christmas morning he was excited to open presents and see his tractors, tools, tractor books, and most importantly...suckers! I learned I should give these last because he wouldn't let go of the bag which made it hard to open presents. Adam gave me my shelf that I have been wanting for a little while. Our office is getting demolished and turning into a nursery. I decided we needed some changes in our family room to accomodate our new office space so I got a huge bookcase to put Brody's toys, books and other stuff. He also surprised me with a laptop. Adam got a floor jack for his shop and a few other little nick nacks. Adam definately spoiled me this year.

After opening up our presents to each other we were off to Adam's parents for breakfast. It was snowing so hard and the roads were snow packed. We were so grateful to have 4 wheel drive. We ate breakfast then exchanged gifts. We then had a white elephant exchange which was a new hit this year. There were lots of gag gifts that we laughed about. Adam and Brian had to go back to Brian's house and they decided to help those that were stuck in the snow. What good men we have in our family to serve like they do! We spent the day there until we headed down to Provo for dinner with the extended family. The roads were again really bad and we were even more grateful for 4 wheel drive. We had a wonderful time at John and Shanin's. We have an ornament exchange every year which is really fun to see what we all got. Adam pulled the kids and John on sleds and skis with the Jeep. They had a great time!

I love Christmas and I am always sad to see it go. It helps remind us to remember the true meaning of Christmas and to serve others. I am grateful for both mine and Adam's family and all the fun times we have with them, too bad we can't play all the time. Til next year!

What a fun Christmas...it looked like Brody had so much fun. You guys are such a cute family, I miss hanging out with you so much. Maybe sometime next week we could plan something. We could all meet in Salt Lake, that way it's not to far for either of us. Hope you guys have a Happy New Year!!

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that the watch you made was a big hit. She loved it and has worn it everyday since. She said she had been wanting one. Thanks! It was fun to give her something that was unique and cool. Glad you had a good Christmas too.
