What a great time we had. I don't think I've ever done so much walking in my life. Seriously we walked from about 9:00 a.m. til about 9:00 p.m. for four days in a row. With all the yummy food we ate, I think it was worth it to walk everywhere. The first day we got there we ate at a Mexican restaurant which was delicious. We were told to not walk the streets at night so we came back to the hotel.
Day 2 we went shopping at the "Magnificent Mile". These were the higher end shops of which we hardly found anything. I did buy some new more comfortable shoes due to all the walking and achy feet so that was worth it. We then went to the play "Wicked". I love plays, they are so neat. There's so much work that goes into them.
Day 3 we went on a historical/food tour. We learned lots about Chicago and tried some really yummy food along the way. We then did some more shopping. The styles in Chicago are so different, but in a good way. Probably not the kind of clothes I would where so then again not much success. We began wondering if we were ever going to find anything that would work for us.
So day 4 we hit the State Street shopping and found way too much success. Before we found all the good shops our plan was to go to the Sears tower so we brought a full load of clothes and goods with us to the Sears tower. Let's just say blisters on our hands? Well almost, our bags keps ripping and not only were our feet sore but our hands were as well. Not that I am complaining because we had much success with our shopping that day. We just couldn't stop. The Sears tower is amazing. The elevator travels at 18 mph and it has 103 floors. It's one of the tallest buildings in the world.
Day 5 we went to the Art Institute of Chicago. The museum was pretty interesting although I was pretty much done with the walking. We had lots of yummy food while we were there. There are restaurants after restaurants. I've also never seen so many taxis in my life. We were told that there are 6,000 taxis in Chicago. WOW! Although it was a fun trip to be with my mom and sisters, I was ready to be home and see my boys and sleep in my own bed. Adam and Brody came into the airport to meet me which was a big surprise. Brody couldn't stop smiling. I think he missed me which made me feel good especially when he is such a daddy's boy.
Not only did I have a blast, Adam and Brody were very busy as well. They went up to the farm two of the days to work on fixing the fence and work on the sprinklers. Brody sat on the 4-wheeler the whole time while Adam was working. Adam took him off the 4-wheeler to play but he climbed right back up there. Grandma great thinks it's time to get him a 4-wheeler for the farm. Brody would absolutely love it, good think they have controls to manage their speeds. He loves riding the 4-wheelers and the tractor. In fact he now says tractor everytime he sees one. Adam also took him up to the tram in SnowBird with the Robb's, some friends of ours and their boys.
