Pumpkin Waffles

I saw this recipe on my sister-in-laws blog and thought it would be great for Thanksgiving morning...not only was it great but it was wonderful! They are the best tasting waffles I have ever tried and to top it off, homemade syrup! Delicious! So for those of you who are dying to try these yummy waffles here's the recipe:

Pumpkin Waffles

Dry:
2 C. Flour
2 TBSP Baking Powder
1 TBSP Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Nutmeg
1 TBSP Sugar
1/4 tsp Salt
Wet:
1 1/2 C. Milk
4 Eggs
1 C. Pumpkin
3/4 C. Melted Butter
1 tsp Vanilla

Combine all ingredients. About 4.5 min in the waffle iron.


Buttermilk Syrup

1/2 C. Butter
1 C. Sugar
1/2 C Buttermilk
Bring to a boil, remove from heat and add:
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Vanilla

Syrup will fizz, then settle. Serve over hot waffles.

Husband Tag...all about Adam

1)Where did you meet?
In college, we lived in the same apartment building, we didn’t get married until our third year in college, who knew.

2) How long did you date before you were married?
About 9 months.

3) How long have you been married?
4 years, 2 months and 4 days, best time of my life!

4) What does he do that surprises you?
He brings home random flowers, so cute! He also surprises me by cooking dinner when I am unable to. That is good for Adam because he doesn’t like to cook especially if it takes longer than 30 seconds. I just found out that he knows how to make pizza rolls, can’t wait to try Adam’s version. (hint, hint)

5) What is his best feature?
His eyes, he has such cute eyes. Also his thighs, I know it sounds weird. When we first met he was biking a lot and had such strong leg muscles. And you still do babe! Another feature and the best is his sense of humor. He can make anyone laugh especially me. I love it!

6) What is your favorite quality of his?
Adam can fix just about anything, he is so smart. Sometimes I take it for granted. I’m so grateful to Adam’s dad for teaching him the things he did because even if he’s never done something, he will figure out how to fix it.

7) Does he have a nickname for you?
Babe, Sweety, Sug, Sugey, I can’t even think of all of them, the list goes on. He hardly ever calls me by my first name.

8) What is his favorite food?
Nachos and ice cream, he could never have too much.

9) What is his favorite sport?
Mountain biking, he loves it…too bad I’m such a demanding wife and he doesn’t get out more J He also loves to go Jeeping!

10) When and where was your first kiss?
In my apartment building, it was so cute! It was the perfect moment. Adam was so scared to kiss me for a long time, I think it took him 2 months before we had our first kiss.

11) What is your favorite thing to do as a couple?
Camping, Jeeping, boating, riding bikes, taking walks, dejunk, go on dates to dinner and a movie, go for drives (before we had Brody, that’s history since our little boy doesn’t like the car too much)

12) Do you have any children?
We have 1 ½ , one cute, fun little boy Brody and another boy on the way!

13) What are his hidden talents?
Can’t think of any hidden talents, Adam’s not the shy kind of guy. He doesn’t hold anything back.

14) Who said i love you first?
Adam did of course, I was way too chicken to say it first.

15) What is his favorite music?
Country, Alternative, Josh Groben, Peter Breinholt, etc.

16) What do you admire about him?
Adam is perfect, I couldn’t ask for better. Adam is such a family man, he always puts his family first. He is an amazing father, he is so involved with Brody and teaches him so much. He is always spending time with him any second he has. I can’t wait to see what kind of affect he will have on our next child. He is also an amazing husband. He continues to surprise me with his little talents. He made me a Valentine’s Day card one year out of duct tape, it was the cutest card I have ever received, and it took him a long time to make it. I admire at how patient he is and how he never gets mad.

17) What is his favorite color?
It used to be purple, maybe it still is. Haven’t asked him in a long time.

18) Will he read this?
Yes, of course he will read this and he will just smile the whole time!

It's a.....

BOY!!!

Yes that's right, we are having another boy. We just found out today and are so excited! In fact, Adam was so sure that it was a girl before the ultrasound...he kept asking the ultrasound lady if she was sure, and she kept saying yes it's pretty apparent it's a boy! We can't wait to have two boys that can be little buddies! We had so many girls names picked out but we are boggled about any boys names. Any suggestions?

My cousin's husband passed away last night after undergoing a few different brain surgeries. He was in a high speed chase and lost control of his cop car and hit a sign last Monday. He leaves behind his wife, Katie and four week old twin babies. My heart goes out to her and her family. Be grateful for what you have because you never know what's going to happen. Thank heavens that Families can be together forever! You're in our prayers Katie!
